1. Why did you start the project?
U of T is so large that it’s hard for students to find and meet each other, which has been a problem for a long time. People use Facebook to connect with people that they already know, but there was no way to search for new people with whom to make friends or to form romantic relationships. Love at U of T solves this problem, allowing students to find others who are compatible with them or who share their interests.
2. Reason you love doing your project
I find it exciting and amazing that I can write code that turns into something that helps other students have a richer university experience.
3. Most important thing you’ve learned
It is actually possible for two people that are 3,000 miles apart to develop a piece of software remotely, and with minimal frustration, no less.
4. Future plans?
I am moving to San Francisco at the end of December and am currently looking for a job there.
5. How many users do you have?
Over 750 users have signed up in a period of 2.5 months.
